The tax on rental income is a tax arising from the gains and profits for occupation of property. The ITA provides for various ways of taxing rental income; Where the rent is payable to a non-resident, the tenant is required to withhold 30% of the rent and remit it to the Kenya Revenue Authority. The tax withheld is a final tax. Where the rent is payable to a resident, if the property is commercial, the tenant being an appointed agent, is required to withhold 10 % of the rent. Who does Khamenei think he is? Muhammad?

Anyway, note that Charlie Hebdo doesn’t dare mark the anniversary of the jihad massacre in its offices by publishing more cartoons of Muhammad. They’ve learned their lesson, like so many in the West, and bowed to violent intimidation, which only means they will eventually get more of it.   “Iran protests cartoons of Khamenei in French satirical weekly,” RFI, January 4, 2023 (thanks to The Religion of Peace): Iran warned France on Wednesday it would respond after “insulting” cartoons depicting Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were published in the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. The weekly had published dozens of cartoons on the same day ridiculing the highest religious and political figure in the Islamic republic. The magazine said the cartoons were part of a competition it launched in December in support of the protests triggered by the 16 September death in custody of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurd who was arrested for allegedly violating the country’s strict dress code

Israel building concrete wall to protect highways near Gaza Strip

Cars drive on a new Israeli road divided by a wall to separate it for Palestinians (L) and the side to be used exclusively by Israelis and settlers (R) in East Jerusalem, on January 10, 2019. (AFP) • Hamas source casts doubt on power of security corridor project to stop attacks GAZA CITY: Israel has started construction on a concrete wall to protect highways near the Gaza Strip from anti-tank missiles. The country’s Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that the building of the 4.6-kilometer-long wall bordering the Gaza Strip aimed at protecting Israeli towns against attacks. It added that work had begun on the security corridor project in the Gaza Strip, which aims to allow the movement of residents in times of emergency without fear of attack. Israel previously built a concrete wall along an exposed area of the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip after Palestinian factions carried out an operation using a guided Kornet missile that targeted an Israeli military vehicle in 2

Iran’s Su-35 Aircraft Procurement Is More Dangerous Than You Think

The Su-35 procurement is not only a defense deal but also a strategic manifestation, proving the bitter cost of appeasement and naivety.   Taking advantage of Russia’s growing reliance on low-cost Iranian weapons amidst its stumbling campaign in Ukraine, Iran is now set to procure dozens of Russian Su-35 aircraft. While some Western assessments tend to downplay the gravity of the acquisition, claiming that it would not drastically alter the airpower balance in the Gulf, the Su-35 would give an unprecedented boost to Tehran’s control over the Iranian airspace. Such a capability development effort is particularly dangerous as the regime is moving closer to a nuclear bomb. More importantly, the ambitious barter of Russian Su-35 fighters in return for Iranian drones, and probably ballistic missiles, manifests a grim calculus for the West. Contemporary military transactions between Tehran and Moscow have unveiled a new geopolitical episode. Washington and its allies are now facing a more a

Drug use puts you at higher risk of TB In Summary Drug and alcohol abusers may not access a diet that provides all the nutrients needed to stay healthy They may fail to adhere to their treatment, which may lead to drug-resistant TB People who abuse drugs or alcohol have a greater risk of contracting tuberculosis. The use of drugs and excessive consumption of alcohol damage a person’s organs and weaken their defenses (immune system) against illnesses such as TB. Drug and alcohol abusers may not access a diet that provides all the nutrients needed to stay healthy; they may fail to adhere to their treatment, which may lead to drug-resistant TB, and they may also spend time in places where it’s easier for TB to spread, such as crowded or poorly ventilated homes or social venues. TB patients with a substance abuse problem may not access health services in time and if they do, they may fail to take their medication as prescribed. Untreated TB is highly contagious and may be fatal, this me

POTENTIAL CHALLENGES

Next year will be tough for incoming President The new government will be challenged especially in creating jobs and ending corruption In Summary •There will be a potential challenge on inflation to keep watch on. Many businesses across sectors will do well. •There is a likelihood of a lot of emigration of so many Kenyans to foreign countries in search of better livelihood or seek employment opportunities. A police officer guards ballot boxes in Eldoret after the August 8, 2017 general election.   It is about eight to another general election but from the activities on the ground, you would think the poll will be in a month or so. The top seat is the most prime position to fight for in the Kenyan political space. The Deputy President seat based on the experience we have so far is for positioning one strategically especially for future political contests or career growth. In a sense having witnessed the Deputy President seat reduced to almost a ‘flower girl’ position in the last term
